It is also special that Lasith Malinga is coming to the MI jersey after a gap. Malinga is the bowling coach of New York MI. Malinga was the bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals in IPL. With the exception of David Wiese, all of the inductees come from various MI country franchises. Apart from MI New York, the teams owned by Mumbai Indians are MI Cape Town in the South African T20 League and MI Emirates, the T20 team of the International League.

Again this time; Suresh Raina is reportedly not registered for the Lankan Premier League

New York MI’s first match against San Francisco Unicorn on July 14 will be in the six-team Premier Cricket League starting on July 13. Apart from Mumbai, IPL teams Kolkata and Punjab have teams in the Premier Cricket League. Other teams owned by IPL teams are Texas Super Kings and Los Angeles Knight Riders.
