Starting January 1, 2026, consumers in Poland will face a new charge on a wide range of electronic devices and even office supplies. Dubbed the ”reprographic fee,” this additional 1-2% cost is intended to compensate creators for the private copying of their work – music, movies, photos, and books. However,the method of implementation is raising important concerns.
Which Devices Will Be Affected?

- Smartphones (with at least 32GB of storage)
- Tablets, laptops, and desktop computers
- TVs and decoders with recording capabilities
- Printers, scanners, and photocopiers
- A4 and A3 paper
- SSD/HDD drives, USB flash drives, and memory cards
