Smriti Mandana’s brilliant innings, Indian women level the series with England

Derby: Smriti Mandana’s half-century wins India’s 2nd Twenty20 of the series against England. India leveled the three-match series at 1-1 with an eight-wicket win in the second Twenty20.

After taking the toss in the derby, England scored 142 runs for the loss of six wickets. England bounced back from 54-5 down. Freya Kemp, who scored 51 runs off 37 balls, saved England. Among the Indian bowlers, Sneh Rana took three wickets, Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma took one wicket each.

Mandana and Shafali had a good start in the chase

Mandana and Shafali put up a half-century partnership for India, and were chased. After Shafali returned after scoring 20 runs, Hemalatha also left the crease. But captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who stood with Mandana, did not fall into other dangers and led India to victory.

Mandana was the star of the match as he scored 79 runs and remained unbeaten. Mandana’s innings was accompanied by 13 boundaries off 53 balls. Harmanpreet remained unbeaten on 29 off 22 balls. The third Twenty20 will decide the winner of the series on Thursday.
