A seemingly idyllic honeymoon in Meghalaya has become the centre of a murder examination.Sonam Raghuvanshi allegedly confessed to orchestrating the death of her husband, Raja Raghuwanshi, according to Meghalaya police. The couple’s photos depicted a happy, newly married pair, but authorities say a dark secret lurked beneath the surface.
Sonam raghuvanshi allegedly hired Raj Kushwaha, her suspected lover, paying him 50,000 rupees to follow the couple and arrange Raja’s murder, police said.Kushwaha then allegedly enlisted Vishal Singh,Anand Kurmi,and Akash Rajput,leading to Raja’s death near Wei Sawdong Falls around May 23 or 24.
Raja’s body remained hidden in a gorge for several days. Sonam resurfaced in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on June 9, but her whereabouts in the interim remain unclear. Police investigations revealed that Sonam and Raj allegedly used location-sharing apps to coordinate throughout the trip.
Kushwaha denies being in Meghalaya. Though, police beleive that after the murder, Sonam met Kushwaha in a rented room in Dewas Gate, Indore, where he arranged her transport to Uttar Pradesh.
