Matsuyama, Japan – Japanese actor and singer Tomohisa Yamashita‘s personal details was inadvertently leaked online by an employee of the Songshan Airport VIP lounge in Taiwan. The incident occurred after Yamashita, who was in Taiwan to attend Jay Chou’s concert, departed from Matsuyama Airport on December 9th.
An employee of the VIP lounge posted a photo of Yamashita’s VIP room voucher on their personal Instagram account, exposing details such as his flight number, seat, and even his full name. The post was subsequently shared on Threads, raising concerns about passenger privacy.
chen Yunqian, Vice President of Kaohsiung Sky Kitchen, the company operating the Songji VIP Lounge, expressed deep regret for the breach of passenger privacy. “The employee posted the content of the invitation card on IG based on their own ideas during work,” Chen stated. “we are sorry for the loss of rights and interests caused to Mr. Yamashita and have immediately asked the employee to delete the post and photo.”
Chen assured that the company is taking the matter seriously. “We will re-educate and provide education and training for VIP room employees on the protection of passenger personal information,” Chen saeid. “The employee’s behavior will be subsequently investigated and punished in accordance with company regulations.”
While Chen did not confirm whether the employee would be fired, they emphasized that the employee was relatively new and lacked understanding of company policies regarding passenger privacy.
