Sony India has launched two new G Master super telephoto prime lenses for Alpha full-frame E-mount cameras: the FE 400mm F4.5 GM OSS and the FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS. According to the company, these models are the lightest lenses in their respective categories worldwide, designed specifically for capturing high-speed action in sports, wildlife, and avian photography.
The FE 400mm F4.5 GM OSS weighs approximately 994 grams, while the FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS weighs approximately 995 grams, excluding the tripod mount. Sony states this reduced weight provides photographers with greater control and comfort during extended handheld use.
Technical Specifications for High-Speed Sports Imaging
The lenses feature a fast, precise, and silent autofocus system to track rapidly moving subjects. Sony integrated Nano AR Coating II technology to minimize light reflections and flare when shooting in backlight conditions. The design focuses on delivering high resolution and a pronounced background blur effect.
When paired with the Alpha 9 III camera, the lenses use auto-exposure tracking and autofocus to capture continuous shots at up to 120 frames per second. For extended reach, the focal length of the FE 400mm F4.5 GM OSS can be increased to 800mm using a 2x teleconverter, while the FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS can reach up to 1200mm.
Both models are built to be dust- and moisture-resistant. A fluorine coating is applied to the lens surfaces to prevent dirt and dust from adhering to the glass.

The FE 400mm F4.5 GM OSS is priced at 3,10,990 rupees in India. The FE 600mm F6.3 GM OSS is available for 4,28,990 rupees.
