Delport’s experience in leading the South African women’s team in world-class battles, particularly showcased in the World Rugby Challenge Series where the Thai women’s team secured an impressive 6th ranking, convinced the association’s decision-makers that he possesses the necessary skills to empower a smaller team against stronger opponents.

Delport’s appointment as head coach in Thailand has attracted attention globally, following his successful trial period in April. The decision to grant him full control of the team was met with widespread acclaim, positioning the Thai rugby team as a noteworthy force in Asian and international competitions.
