South Korea, United States, Japan Condemn North Korean Missiles

Korean Peninsula Peace Negotiations Headquarters Kim Gun, US Deputy Special Representative for North Korea Jeong Park and Japan Senior Representative for North Korean Nuclear Affairs Hiroyuki Namaz shared their assessment of the ballistic missile launch medium-range by North Korea and discussed ways of cooperation between the three countries through a three-way telephone consultation.

Representatives of the three countries condemned North Korea for threatening peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula by launching ballistic missiles in violation of Security Council resolutions, and stressed that security cooperation between Korea, the United States and Japan will be further strengthened as the provocations continue.

Representatives of the three countries also agreed to closely monitor trends in military cooperation between North Korea and Russia and jointly respond in connection with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui’s visit to Russia.
