◇Aim for a 30-minute commute to and from work in the metro area

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, once the GTX A, B, C routes open, the travel time between Suseo and Dongtan, which previously took 75 to 79 minutes, will be reduced to 19 minutes through the GTX-A ( (expected to fully open in 2028) and the travel time will be between 54 and 70 minutes. ◇Promoted the extension of the GTX A·B·C path

The government plans to discuss extending the route by having local governments bear the costs, and if an agreement is reached with the affected local governments, the aim is to begin construction within the current government’s mandate.

◇Promotion of the new GTX D·E·F routes

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has also announced plans for the new GTX D·E·F routes. These routes, scheduled to partially open in 2035, will be reflected in the government’s fifth national rail network plan (2026-2035). The GTX-D departs from Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Janggi, Gyeonggi Province respectively, and the route is divided into Paldang and Wonju. GTX-E is a route starting from Incheon Airport and connecting to Daejang, Sangam DMC, Yeonsin University, Kwangwoon University, Guri and Deokso. In the case of the GTX-F, the government is planning a Type 0 route connecting Wangsuk, Deokso and Gyosan in the first phase, and bypassing Uijeongbu, Daegok, Siheung City Hall, Suwon and Giheung in the second phase. The government has announced that it will seek to approve a concurrent preliminary feasibility study during the term of the current government.
