Acting on the boy’s facts, his parents immediatly contacted neighborhood police officers who were patrolling the area. Officers swiftly responded, arresting the youth and recovering both the weapon and a small quantity of cannabis. The youth was then taken into custody, according to Essex Police.

“We quickly searched and arrested the youth but by the time we went back to the restaurant to thank the family, they’d left,” PC Higgs stated. “We’d love the parents to get in touch with us as their son deserves some official recognition.”
PC Higgs jokingly suggested the boy might have a future in law enforcement, saying, “We might even have some shifts he can cover next weekend as he’s clearly a natural.”
