Southwest Loop 410 Reopens After Fatal Accident Involving Pickup Truck

Accident on Southwest Loop 410 Results in Driver Fatality

SAN ANTONIO – A driver died after a crash on Southwest Loop 410 on Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 1 p.m. The driver of a black pickup truck rear-ended a box truck while traveling northbound between Old Pearsall Road and Ray Ellison Boulevard.

First responders pronounced the male driver in his 30s dead at the scene. The box truck driver did not sustain injuries.

Police are investigating the crash but have not confirmed the speeds of either vehicle.

A second accident took place near the first crash, but authorities reported no injuries from it.

Southwest Loop 410 was closed while police and the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted their investigations.

The Texas Department of Transportation has announced that the road has since reopened.
