Agricultural and Specialty Products Direct Transaction Market Format: A Representative Regional Festival

Simmons Bed recently held a farmer’s market at Simmons Terrace, a complex cultural space and ESG cradle in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, for two weeks from the 30th to the 1st of last month and from the 6th to the 8th of this month.

The Farmer’s Market, which began in 2018 as part of a socializing project that connects regions and people, has established itself as a festival representing the Icheon region.

This year’s Farmer’s Market featured six local farms, including Mushroom En, Sangdo Farm, Icheon Rice Gangjeong, Myeongin Farm, Ogun Farm, and Haute Flor, offering a variety of products such as fresh shiitake mushrooms, peaches, rice gangjeong, grapes, tomatoes, and flowers.

Simmons provided generous support to participating farmers, including setting up sales booths and pre-purchasing a certain amount of agricultural and specialty products.

The event also featured performances such as magic and pop opera, as well as a variety of food and beverage options, making it a true representative local festival with plenty to see and eat.

An upcycling booth selling donated items from Simmons employees was set up, with the 10 million won in sales proceeds going towards helping local youth.

A Simmons official stated, “We were able to successfully complete the event by uniting local farmers, visitors, and Simmons employees,” and added, “We will continue to take the lead in mutually beneficial cooperation with the Icheon community.”
