A 2-year-old girl died early Saturday after a freak ‌accident at a fairground in alquerias, near Murcia, southern Spain. Three other children sustained injuries ⁣when they touched a metal fence surrounding a⁢ trampoline,​ which had become electrified.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and worked for an hour to resuscitate the girl, but she ⁣was pronounced dead.The other children were hospitalized and are reportedly recovering from electric shocks.

A 29-year-old woman was treated for ⁤an anxiety attack after witnessing the tragedy.The ‌ Spain‘s Civil Guard police ‌have sealed off the ‍fairground and launched an⁤ examination into possible negligence and involuntary manslaughter.

Investigators are​ working to determine if the⁤ trampoline ​attraction ⁤was safely set up and properly connected to the electrical‌ grid. Murcia City Council has expressed condolences and declared three​ days of ⁣mourning.
