A heated exchange between Saudi artists Ayed Yusuf and Dalia Mubarak has unfolded on social media platform “X”, with both artists trading sarcastic insults.
The dispute began when Mubarak opened up to questions from his followers, responding to a query about a potential collaboration with Ayed Yusuf. Mubarak stated, “With Ayed, no, and it will never happen, God willing. I have worked, and will continue to work, with the artist Sultan Al-Murshid, God’s Will.”
Yusuf responded with a sarcastic comment, saying, “Every day you prove that you are creative, and God willing, your creativity even reaches the response, Najma. I hope your next album will be at the same level as your last album.”
Mubarak quickly fired back, commenting, “Indeed, nothing comes after your creativity whenever you prove your good intentions towards your quarter, and God willing, I wish you success, and God willing, He will grant you. Measure your intentions.”
In a subsequent tweet, Mubarak wrote, “I heard you and I saw your work and I was happy with a sweet paragraph.” He concluded the open question segment to his followers, stating, “I could have chosen the low-down style of gossiping that many others use, and if I had something to say frankly, well, good night.”
Following the dispute, a leaked duet between Dalia Mubarak and Sultan Al-Murshid surfaced, sparking a divided reaction from the public. Some deemed Dalia’s reaction to be excessive, while others supported her response.
In response to the controversy, Sultan Al-Murshid took to his blog to address the situation. He wrote, “Ayed is my brother and a role model, and I learned a lot from him for love, and we are verbal in this field. I didn’t attack anyone, I apologize for that, Dahlia.”
Al-Murshid also posted a tweet, stating, “I don’t take my name in doubt, we didn’t enter this field for love and because of that tendency we respect the audience who love us and love to hear us from you. All respect and admiration is due and I will compensate you with what is to come.”
