Spotlight on Excellence: Area 6 of Bobo Honors Outstanding Educational Actors
Day of Excellence of Primary Schools in District 6 of Bobo-Dioulasso
District 6 of the municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso recently organized the Day of Excellence of Primary Schools, held on September 21, 2024, at the town hall in the district.
The event aimed to encourage students to excel in their studies by recognizing and rewarding outstanding students and teachers in the primary school sector. This year’s theme was “Celebrating excellence in schools for a school of resilience and quality in a context of security crisis.”
Recognizing Excellence
During the ceremony, students who excelled in different categories received prizes, including bicycles, school supplies, student bags, Android mobile phones, tablets, and certificates of recognition. Teachers were also rewarded with laptops, desktop computers, printers, and motorcycles.
Salamata Compaoré/Sinaré, president of the special delegation from area 6, expressed her delight with the event, stating that despite the challenging economic and security context, the area has achieved better results. She congratulated and encouraged everyone involved in the education sector for their hard work.
Keynote Speech
Moussa Sanou, responsible for cultural affairs and representative of the Bobo-Dioulasso municipal PDS, delivered a speech emphasizing the timeliness of the event’s theme. He called on all stakeholders to demonstrate resilience and work towards restoring peace in the country.
Award Winners
Some of the notable award winners included:
- Minata Coulibaly, the best internally displaced student in the district, who scored 142 points in the CEP and received a bicycle and school supplies.
- Zekolia Ouédraogo, the best girl in Area 6 in the CEP, who scored 158.5 points and received a bicycle, tablet, and school supplies.
- Rayan Tarik Thiombiano, the best boy in the CEP, who scored 158.5 points and received a bicycle, tablet, and school supplies.
- Boubié Ido, the best teacher, who received a certificate of recognition and a laptop.
- Élisabeth Nebié/Kaboré, the best teacher, who received a certificate of recognition, a laptop, and a motorcycle.
Primary schools that achieved 100% were also recognized, including Rayon du Soleil primary school, Sekina School, Oracle contemporary Cour, Lafiabougou F, D, Marie Gabriel Soûlé, and Sya Sanou. These schools received certificates of recognition.
