Springer Nature Signs Agreement to Host Slimmer AI Science Department from the Netherlands

London | Berlin | New York, October 23, 2023 – Springer Nature, a leading global academic publisher, has announced its final agreement to host the Slimmer AI (S-AI) science department from the Netherlands. This collaboration aims to leverage technology to enhance the publication process and improve the reliability of scientific research.

Springer Nature and Slimmer AI have been working together since 2015, harnessing advanced software and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to streamline and expedite the dissemination of research. The AI features developed by Slimmer AI include selecting appropriate editors for manuscript submissions, recommending suitable reviewers, and automatically identifying issues such as plagiarism in papers.

Matthias Wissel, Chief Information Officer of Springer Nature, emphasized the crucial role of technology in serving the research community. He noted that technology enables content to be more accessible, searchable, and citable, all while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. Wissel expressed excitement about the integration of Slimmer AI’s science department into Springer Nature, foreseeing advancements in the entire research process and the acceleration of publication timelines.

Heather Devereaux, Managing Director of Science at Slimmer AI, echoed Wissel’s sentiments, highlighting the successful collaboration between the two companies in developing innovative AI products. Springer Nature has reached a final agreement to host the Slimmer AI (S-AI) science department from the Netherlands.

In recent decades, technology has played an important role in improving the way we publish reliable scientific research. In this context, Springer Nature, a global academic publisher, has concluded an agreement to host the Slimmer AI (S-AI) science department from the Netherlands.

Springer Nature and Slimmer AI started working together in 2015. Using new technology, Slimmer AI’s advanced software has developed artificial intelligence (AI) tools to speed up and improve the publication process through features such as:
