The KBO regular league champion of the 2022 season, SSG Landers, has been decided who will meet in the Korean Series.

This is not the second place LG Twins, who competed with SSG for the lead until the last minute of the regular season. 3rd place Kiwoom Heroes, who made it through the semi-playoffs and playoffs, went to the Korean Series for the first time in three years.

Kiwoom defeated LG 4-1 in Game 4 of the playoffs held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 28th. After losing the first game, the series ended with a three game winning streak.

As soon as the playoffs were over, SSG coach Kim Won-hyung told the club, “So far, we have been preparing well through training games and practice by focusing on the Korea Series regardless of who the opponent.”

“For three weeks, we focused on rehabilitating the players, and the injured players have recovered, and I am satisfied that no players have been injured during the training period,” he said.

He added, “In particular, I emphasized the importance of defense, and I put a lot of emphasis on the team and preparing for various situations that could happen in a short period of time.”

Finally, coach Kim Won-hyeong said, “During the Korea Series, I want to give fans a game that is as enjoyable as the regular season.”

The 7-to-4 Korea Series kicks off with the first game to be held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon at 6:30pm on November 1.
