State troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post responded at 6:22 p.m. On April 21 to a crash on State Route 125 in Clermont County, where a construction worker was struck and killed by a 2024 Tesla Model Y.
The victim, identified as Kevin Fuller, 36, of Arkansas, was performing survey work in a two-way left-turn lane on State Route 125 near Bennett Road in Union Township when he was hit by the vehicle.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Prince Patel was driving the Tesla eastbound on State Route 125 at the time of the collision.
Medics pronounced Fuller dead at the scene. Patel was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with minor injuries before being taken into custody.
Patel has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI), and driving in marked lanes, according to authorities from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post.
