Steaming Hot Dumplings: A February Night to Remember

Suddenly, steam rises. Every time I get my appetite back, I turn the corner and find myself in front of a dumpling restaurant. Dumplings on a February night with a faint spring feel. After the first spring, my body immediately rushes towards the spring. I’m hungry until the sunlight warms me. I don’t know why there is so much fuss about stretching out slowly and welcoming spring. I definitely had dinner with a friend and left, but my stomach was as empty as a dumpling. Hot meat dumplings are sure to give me the right amount of joy.
I could go home and eat frozen dumplings, but I suddenly remembered that there was a famous dumpling restaurant nearby. This was the store that let off a lot of steam every time I drove by. I see people waiting for dumplings in groups and my mouth is already watering. I ordered meat dumplings, kimchi dumplings, and shrimp dumplings.
Every time the owner of the dumpling restaurant opens the lid, steam rises and the smell of steamed dumplings spreads. Even people who didn’t think much of it stop and look to see what kind of dumplings they have. And then I continue walking and eventually come back to order dumplings.
As the line gets longer, people who pre-order are getting excited without knowing why. I couldn’t be happier to be able to eat the dumplings first, so the corner of my mouth twitches, but I try my best to hide it. Every time the dumplings are steaming, I approach the stand and show them that it’s almost my turn. And then, my glasses are fogged up and I feel empty.
The person who ordered meat dumplings, kimchi dumplings, and shrimp dumplings. Finally, it’s my turn. With three plates of dumplings in hand, I turn on the blinker and approach my husband who is waiting in the distance. The car was full of the smell of dumplings, but there was no time to go home and open the package. I’m excited to flick the yellow rubber band, open the lid, and pick up the dumplings. At the signal, my husband puts one in his mouth and I blow and put the whole dumpling in my mouth. It’s so hot it’s hard to chew, but as one hot dumpling slides down my throat and into my stomach, my heart fills. No, to what extent did I fill my heart? I ate three plates of dumplings in the short time it took me to get home. It’s such a proud night in February.
