[디지털데일리 문대찬기자] ‘Stella Blade’, a highly anticipated domestic console developed by Shift Up, received positive reviews from overseas critics, raising box office expectations.

According to the global criticism site Metacritic on the 25th, Stella Blade’s metascore recorded 82 points. It is the same as the metascore score first recorded by ‘P’s Lies’ released by Neowiz last year.

Of the 110 reviews released after the embargo was lifted on this day, 92 (84%) reviewed Stella Blade positively. 14 (13%) were complex. There wasn’t a single negative review.

Reviewers unanimously praised Stella Blade’s action and visuals. Foreign webzine Eurogamer Germany, which gave the game 100 points, said, “Although much of it seems familiar and sometimes a bit uniform, the powerful combat system, excellent boss fights, exciting scenarios, motivating environmental exploration, and many well-thought-out ideas make Stella Blade. “It makes for a great solo adventure game.”

Game Spew said, “It is more than a Soullike game with an eye-catching protagonist. It far exceeded our expectations, offering diverse gameplay, stunning visuals, a sublime soundtrack, and a compelling story. He gave it 100 points, saying, “It’s a must-play for action game fans.”

However, it received negative reviews for its poor character and story. Global webzine IGN, which gave Stella Blade a score of 70, said, “It is excellent in the most important aspects of an action game,” but “boring characters, a dull story, and some disappointing elements of RPG mechanics prevent it from being the best.”

Gamer.nl gave it a score of 70 and said, “The predictable story and empty characters are offset by interesting and fluid combat. “I hope that our imaginations will be stimulated a little more in a possible sequel,” he wrote.

Stella Blade is an action-adventure game developed by Shift Up, a domestic game company famous for ‘Destiny’s Child’ and ‘Victory: Nike’. It tells the story of Eve, an agent who came to Earth from an extraterrestrial colony, defeating the enemy of humanity, Native, and approaching the source of truth.

Stella Blade is a work distributed exclusively by Sony for PlayStation 5. Shift Up was the first domestic game company to join Sony’s second party, raising expectations even before its release.

In addition, the protagonist Eve’s sensational physical expression and suit design became the center of controversy over political correctness (PC) in the gaming world, attracting the attention of gamers at home and abroad. After the demo was released last month, the game received high praise for its action-packed nature and ranked first in pre-order sales on various purchase sites such as the PS Store, giving a green light to box office success.
