Developer Free Lives and publisher Devolver Digital have officially released version 1.0 of the office-themed action game Stick It to the Stickman. The game, which features a physics-based combat system and Roguelite elements, allows players to climb a corporate hierarchy by battling through coworkers and management to reach the position of CEO.
Staplers, Chainsaws, and Corporate Ladders
In Stick It to the Stickman, players control a stick-figure employee attempting to climb the corporate ladder. The gameplay focuses on direct physical confrontation, utilizing a physics engine that governs character movement and combat interactions. Players have access to hundreds of combat techniques, ranging from standard punches and kicks to unconventional office-themed weaponry such as staplers and chainsaws.

The integration of Roguelite elements means that combat encounters are randomized, requiring players to combine different skills and fighting styles during each run. The game allows players to find friends to cause chaos in the office together.
Bunker Battles and Neurolink Additions
The transition to the 1.0 version marks the conclusion of a development cycle that began in 2021, followed by an early access launch in August 2025. This release introduces two primary game modes: Billionaire Bunker and Neurolink.
The Billionaire Bunker mode challenges players to fight from the top floor of a corporate building down into an underground bunker, culminating in a final boss encounter. The Neurolink mode expands the roster by introducing nine distinct character archetypes, each equipped with specific combat abilities. In addition to these modes, the 1.0 release adds new characters, bosses, and stage content to the game.
Production Realities and Steam Launch
The development team at Free Lives has acknowledged that the final version of the game underwent changes due to constraints regarding production scale and personnel. Certain modes that were originally planned during the development phase were ultimately removed from the final release.
The studio has stated that it intends to continue providing performance optimizations and bug fixes following the official launch. Stick It to the Stickman is currently available on the Steam platform and includes support for Traditional Chinese. A free trial version remains available for users who wish to test the gameplay mechanics before purchase.
