Market‍ Overview

The Indian ⁤stock market opened positively on Monday,‍ November 17, 2025, rebounding‍ from losses experienced on Friday, November 15, 2025. Investor focus shifted to the National Democratic alliance (NDA) victory in the Bihar elections and stock-specific movements.

as of opening, the BSE Sensex index stood at 84,759, a gain of 196 points or ⁣0.23 percent. Concurrently, the Nifty50 index reached 25,963, up 53 points or 0.21 percent.

Top Gainers and Losers

Leading the ‍gains⁣ among Sensex constituents were Kotak Bank, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Titan Company, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), State Bank of India (SBI), Tech Mahindra, and ITC, ⁤with increases of up to⁢ 1 percent.

Conversely, Tata Motors‍ PV experienced the largest decline, falling 6 percent. Eternal, Ultratech Cement, Tata consultancy ‍Services (TCS), Power Grid, and Infosys also saw losses.

Broader Market Performance

The Nifty MidCap index rose by 0.45 ⁢percent, while the nifty SmallCap index increased by 0.48 percent. the Bank⁤ Nifty index achieved⁢ a⁤ new record high of 58,830,climbing 0.5 percent.

Additional gains were observed in the Nifty PSU Bank index (up 1.2 percent), the ‍Nifty Private Bank index (up 0.5⁤ percent), the Nifty⁤ FMCG index (up 0.5 percent), and the Nifty Financial services index ‍(up 0.4 percent).
