Severe weather brought by Storm Adam intensified in southeastern France, causing significant disruptions on the Groupe SNCF rail network following storms that occurred in the afternoon of Monday, October 19, and worsened overnight. The disruptions have heavily impacted train traffic across the region, prompting service suspensions, diversions, and delays.
Track Damage Halts Nîmes and Montpellier Connections

While awaiting a normal resumption of traffic, TGV InOui and Ouigo services are being diverted to the adjacent stations of Montpellier-Sud de France and Nîmes-Pont du Gard. Both central stations continue to experience disruptions, including multiple cancellations, modified routes, and some delays.
Impact on TER and Intercités Services
Regional transport has also been severely hindered. TER Zou! services operated by the Sud region from Montpellier Saint-Roch toward Marseille are cancelled. According to the operator’s website and social media channels, traffic is heavily disrupted between Avignon and Miramas via Cavaillon, and interrupted between Arles and Miramas, with delays expected until the end of the day.
Traffic is similarly interrupted between Miramas and Marseille across both regular operating sections of Côte Bleue and Rognac, with service expected to resume either by the end of the day or at the earliest on October 27. SNCF Voyageurs confirmed that substitution measures have been put in place starting Wednesday, October 21. The disruption in circulation between Les Arcs-Draguignan and Cannes has caused further delays and cancellations.

Long-distance connections are also affected. SNCF Voyageurs confirmed that the daytime Intercités service between Marseille and Bordeaux is suspended with no resumption date provided. The nighttime Intercités service between Paris-Austerlitz and Nice is suspended at least until October 27 due to phenomenal mudslides, as reported by the company.
