Storm Alert: 9 States Bracing for Torrential Downpours – Are You Prepared
Heavy Rains and Thunderstorms Expected in Sudan
The Meteorological Authority’s early warning unit has issued a warning for heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds in nine states of Sudan. The affected states include southern Red Sea state, Kassala, Gedaref state, central and western North Kordofan, southern South Kordofan, northwestern Kordofan, central and southern North Darfur, and western and central Darfur.
Heavy rain is also expected on the Ethiopian plateau and Eritrean highlands. The Meteorological Authority has urged concerned authorities and local authorities to take necessary precautions and be prepared for the severe weather conditions.
Citizens in the affected areas are advised to exercise caution and stay away from streams and creeks of the valleys. They are also warned to avoid houses that are in danger of collapsing. Additionally, highway users are advised to drive carefully during the severe weather conditions.
