Cádiz City Experiences Storm Damage
Strong winds and heavy rain caused several incidents across Cádiz on Friday evening, including the collapse of a palm tree onto two vehicles. According too the Cádiz City Council, wind gusts reached up to 80 kilometers per hour during the storm.
Palm Tree Collapse on Avenida Duque de Nájera
At 8:30 PM local time, a palm tree fell on Avenida Duque de Nájera, near Valcárcel, striking two cars traveling in opposite directions. The extent of any injuries to those in the vehicles has not been released.
City Council Response
In anticipation of the severe weather, Cádiz City Council’s Parks and Gardens Department, led by councilor Loli Pavón, deployed three patrol teams to address potential incidents throughout the city. The teams were activated to respond to any issues arising from the storm.
