Ministry of Foreign Affairs Monitors Situation of Stranded Vietnamese Citizens in Brazil
At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 5, spokesperson Pham Thu Hang addressed the situation of over 660 people, including Vietnamese citizens, who have been stranded at the international airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil for several days.
According to Ms. Pham Thu Hang, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil has confirmed that a number of Vietnamese citizens are among the migrants at Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The embassy is closely coordinating with local authorities to monitor the situation and deploy measures to protect Vietnamese citizens if necessary.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes Vietnam’s consistent policy of promoting legal and safe migration, preventing illegal migration and human trafficking, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of migrants.
To prevent migration through unofficial and unsafe channels, authorities have increased communication about legal and safe migration channels and warned citizens about the risks and dangers of unofficial migration channels.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stressed the importance of citizens carefully studying the regulations, policies, and laws of the destination country and the transit country, and complying with the laws of Vietnam and foreign countries.
