Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh Meets with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince to Boost Bilateral Relations
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed several strategic projects to encourage investment in Vietnam, including the construction of a transshipment center and a crude oil reserve. He also encouraged Saudi Arabia to invest in innovation, green transformation, and digital transformation, which were identified as key pillars for future cooperation between the two countries.
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s proposals and agreed to direct their respective ministries to discuss and concretize cooperation proposals. The two leaders also emphasized the importance of education, tourism, labor, and people-to-people exchanges in solidifying relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Saudi Arabia marked the first time a Vietnamese head of government has visited the country since the establishment of diplomatic relations. He was also the main guest and the only Asian leader to speak at the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference, which was organized by Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is the largest economy in the Gulf region and is one of Vietnam’s most important economic partners in the Middle East. The two countries have enjoyed strong bilateral relations over the past 25 years, with cooperation in various fields such as trade, investment, and energy.
During his visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also assigned his ministers to promote immediate exchanges with Saudi Arabian partners to concretize the results of the meeting between the two leaders.
The meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud marked an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.
