In the women’s individual final, Jang Min-hee (Incheon National University) defeated Casey Cofold (USA) 6-0 (29-27 28-27 29-26) to win the championship.

Previously, Kim Woo-jin and Ansan (Gwangju Women’s University) took all three gold medals in the mixed team event (mixed event), the men’s team event, and the women’s team event.

It is the first time in 12 years since the 2009 Ulsan Games in Ulsan that a country has won a gold medal at the World Championships. At that time, Korea brought it all.

Since the 2011 Turin Games in 2011, when mixed events were introduced and the number of gold medals increased from 4 to 5, this is the first time to win all events in the tournament.

Kim Woo-jin won three gold medals in the individual event following the mixed and team events.

Kim Woo-jin is the first among men and women to have won three gold medals by a player at the World Championships.

Kim Woo-jin won two gold medals in both individual and team events at the 2011 and 2015 Copenhagen tournaments.

Jang Min-hee won two gold medals at the world championships for the first time in her life. In addition, she resumed the gold medal in the women’s individual event, which had been cut off since Bo-bae Ki (Gwangju City Hall) of the 2015 Copenhagen Games, after 6 years.

The much-awaited 2020 Tokyo Olympics, three gold medals Ansan’s three world championships failed.

Ansan lost 2-6 (28-29 28-29 28-27 24-28) in the semifinal against Cofold, and their three-time trophy in two major tournaments was canceled.

Ansan won the bronze medal by turning Alejandra Valencia (Mexico) 6-4 (26-28 29-29 30-29 28-28 30-29) in the third and fourth place match.

Kim Je-deok (Gyeongbuk Il High) was defeated by American veteran archer Brady Ellison 0-6 (27-28 28-29 26-28) in the men’s quarterfinals.

Korean archery finished the competition with the best results, sweeping five recurve gold medals and adding one bronze medal in the individual event.

However, in the compound, he only won one bronze medal in the mixed event, which left a disappointment. It is the first time in eight years since the 2013 Belek Games that a Korean compound has not won a single gold medal at the World Championships.
