Sudan exam Delays Leave Thousands in Limbo

Diling and Al nahud, Sudan – Thousands of Sudanese students in Diling, South Kordofan state, and Al Nahud town in West Kordofan state are facing an unexpected and lengthy delay in their crucial certificate examinations.Originally scheduled for December 28, the exams have been postponed until March 2025, leaving students and families in a state of frustration and uncertainty.

The postponement stems from different challenges in each location. in diling, logistical issues, including the delayed arrival of exam papers and seating arrangements, are cited as the primary reason for the delay.

Simultaneously occurring,in Al Nahud,security concerns have forced officials to reschedule the exams. Ibrahim youssef, Secretary General of the West Kordofan State Government and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Postponed Examinations, explained that despite extensive preparations, the security situation made it unachievable to hold the exams as planned.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to the safety and well-being of students, stating that they will be accommodated in Al Nahud until the rescheduled exam dates in March.

“The news is shocking and saddening for the entire community,” said a source familiar with the situation in Diling. “We are still waiting for the exam papers and seating arrangements to arrive.”

“It’s a huge setback for them,” said omar, a resident of Al Nahud. “I can only imagine the stress and disappointment.It’s going to be a long and challenging wait for them.”
