The Kaohsiung City Health Bureau inspected a number of products imported and manufactured by Jinzhan International Trading Co., Ltd. on the evening of the 8th. On the evening of the 8th, a batch of chili powder was detected to contain sudan red and flowed to Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Nantou County and other counties and cities. Among them Jinfuhua Food Company in Nantou County purchased 8,988 kilograms and made them into products for sale. After the news came to light, Jinfuhua Foods issued an emergency statement, stating that it had canceled the use of chili powder as a raw material and switched to using fresh chili peppers to make products.
The Nantou County Health Bureau issued a press release yesterday (10th) stating that after receiving a notification from the Gao City Health Bureau, it went to the Nantou factory of Jinfuhua Food Trading Co., Ltd. for an inspection and found that there were only about 13 kilograms of chili powder left in stock. 55 products, such as sand tea sauce, have been shipped out of stock. Inspectors pointed out that in addition to making and selling Shacha sauce, Jinfuhua Food Company also accepted commissions from other companies to make large cans of Shacha sauce and sell it to restaurants and other channels.

In response, Jinfuhua Food issued an emergency announcement yesterday stating that the Nantou Health Bureau visited the site on March 10 and had officially sealed the raw materials and finished products. Jin Fuhua pointed out that the company had sealed all chili powder raw materials on March 1, and at the same time canceled the use of this raw material, switched to fresh chili peppers as raw materials, and no longer used chili powder.
Jinfuhua Food emphasized, “In response to this food safety incident, our company deeply regrets Jinzhan and Jiaguang. As one of the injured manufacturers, Jinfuhua was founded in 2001 and has been operating locally for 23 years. We adhere to the principle of abiding by the law and producing conscientious professional products. After 23 years, it has always been safe and has no food safety incidents. It has won the support of the public. Jin Fuhua is grateful in his heart. The company will cooperate with the local health bureau to continue to track and maintain quality.”
