The Sunlife hotel group has announced the launch of the first edition of the Sugar Beach International Croquet Cup (SBICC) in Mauritius.
The Sugar Beach International Croquet Cup 2024 will take place from January 25-27, 2024 on the lawn in front of Sugar Beach Mansion. The official launch is scheduled for Wednesday January 24 with distinguished guests. Croquet is played individually or in teams, from 2 to 8 players. The goal is to move the wooden ball as quickly as possible by moving it forward with a mallet. The ball must follow a precise path, delimited by hoops, under which the ball must pass. For those new to the sport, this event presents an opportunity to learn the art of croquet.
Endorsed by the prestigious South African Croquet Association, the Sugar Beach International Croquet Cup 2024 promises three unforgettable days of croquet, camaraderie and exciting experiences. Registered players will have the opportunity to compete against the best croquet players in the world such as current world number 1 Robert Fletcher. Other players will also travel to Mauritius including Jenny Clarke and Guy Scurfield. It should be noted that this tournament will be updated live on “Croquet Scores”, the matches thus contributing to the general ranking.
One of the highlights of this tournament is that the winner of the singles tournament will be invited to defend their title at the next edition of the Sugar Beach International Croquet Cup 2025 with Sunlife hotel accommodation and flights included.
