During Week 4 of the 2026 National Football League season, Los Angeles Chargers running back and Troy alumnus Kimani Vidal made an impact on rushing, receiving, and returns while also finding the end zone. Vidal’s performance headlined a season-high 81 Sun Belt football alumni holding roster spots across 28 of 32 NFL teams.
Vidal Leads Sun Belt Alumni in Week 4 Action
Vidal earned his first start of the season during his third NFL campaign since taking home 2023 Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year honors at Troy. He rushed five times for 25 yards and caught two passes for 11 yards in a 30-23 road loss to the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. His production included a nine-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter marking the sixth score of his career and his third through the air. Vidal also returned two kickoffs for 48 yards.
Isaiah Likely, a Coastal Carolina alumnus and starting tight end for the New York Giants, brought in seven passes totaling 66 yards during a 36-24 home victory against the Arizona Cardinals. Former Troy wideout Tez Johnson added two catches for 17 yards, a 10-yard rush and a 13-yard punt return for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 17-14 home defeat to the Green Bay Packers. Ted Hurst, a rookie wide receiver for the Bucs and former Georgia State standout, made his second start of the campaign and finished with two receptions for 25 yards.
Kickers and Defenders Deliver Across the League
Arkansas State product and New York Giants rookie Dominic Zvada scored 10 points by converting all three field-goal attempts from 52, 50 and 30 yards alongside two extra points against Arizona. Georgia Southern alum and Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass tallied eight points by making field goals from 38 and 27 yards in a 29-26 home loss to the New England Patriots. Georgia State alumnus and Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz contributed six points by making kicks from 52 and 40 yards in a 24-14 road defeat against the San Francisco 49ers.
On defense, five-time All-Pro linebacker and Arkansas State alum Demario Davis notched 10 tackles and one sack for the second week in the New York Jets’ 23-12 road loss to the Chicago Bears. Washington Commanders starting cornerback Amik Robertson recorded nine tackles and defended one pass in a 30-13 home defeat against the Indianapolis Colts. Kansas City Chiefs starting cornerback L’Jarius Sneed posted seven tackles and defended one pass in a 30-27 road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
App State alum and Colts starting inside linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither made eight tackles against Washington, matching South Alabama product and Commanders safety Jeremy Reaves, who also totaled eight tackles. Reddy Steward, a Troy alumnus playing cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, earned his first starting nod of the season and contributed four tackles to help secure a 34-30 away win against the Houston Texans.
