Sunrisers Hyderabad Shatters Records with Highest Ever IPL Score against Mumbai Indians

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted the highest ever score in the history of the Indian Premier League against Mumbai Indians, who won the title five times. They scored 277 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs in the match held at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad today. With this, the record of 263 runs scored by Bengaluru Royal Challengers against Pune Warriors in 2013 became legendary.

Today, all those who took the bat for Sunrisers, who lost the toss and batted first, were full. Hendrich Klaasen, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who filled the field with brilliant half-centuries, carried them to the top. Klaasen was the top scorer with 80 runs off 34 balls with four fours and seven sixes.

Abhishek scored 63 runs off 23 balls with three fours and seven sixes and Head’s score was 62 runs off 24 balls with nine fours and three sixes. Aidan Markram scored 42 runs off 28 balls with two fours and a six. Only Mayank Agarwal, who scored 11 runs off 13 balls, was disappointing.

Head and Abhishek gave Sunrisers a great start. Although they lost Mayank early, they managed to keep him from firing. Sunrisers scored 81 runs for the loss of one wicket in the Powerplay. After Head and Abhishek returned, Klaasen took over the attack. Markram provided excellent support.

The duo made 116 runs off just 54 balls in an unbroken fourth wicket partnership. Jasprit Bumrah gave an outstanding performance in Mumbai, who gave only 36 runs in four overs. Captain Hardik Pandya conceded 46 runs in four overs while youngster Kwena Mpaka conceded 66 runs in four overs. Gerald Kotze gave up 57 runs.
