Suspension of the Blasters women’s team; Serious financial crisis

Kochi: Due to severe financial crisis, Kerala Blasters women’s team has stopped operations. The financial crisis was triggered by a fine imposed by the Football Federation on the men’s team. The women’s team is locked in its eleventh month of operation. In the women’s league, the Blasters team won third place. The All India Football Federation has imposed a fine of Rs 4 crore on the Blasters men’s team who left the field without completing the ISL match against Bengaluru in protest against the referee’s decision. The federation had rejected the appeal given by Blasters against the penalty two days ago.
