Partnership for a Healthier Beekeeping Industry: Korean Bee Veterinary Association and Korea Beekeeping Agricultural Cooperative Association Sign Agreement
The Korean Bee Veterinary Association (Chairman Lim Yun-gyu) and the Korea Beekeeping Agricultural Cooperative Association (President Kim Yong-rae) have joined forces to promote a healthier beekeeping industry. The two organizations signed a ‘Business Agreement for Bee Disease Prevention’ at Jeju National University College of Veterinary Medicine on October 30.
The agreement aims to prevent bee diseases, establish bee clinical trials, and produce safe beekeeping products through mutual cooperation. This partnership is expected to benefit beekeeping farmers and contribute to the development of the beekeeping industry.
The signing ceremony was attended by key officials, including Lim Yoon-gyu, president of the Jeju Bee Veterinary Association, Kim Yong-rae, president of the Korea Beekeeping Agricultural Cooperative Association, Yoon Young-min, Dean of Jeju National University Veterinary College, and other representatives from the Jeju Bee Veterinary Association and the Korea Beekeeping Agricultural Cooperative Association.
The partnership will focus on several key areas, including:
- Quarantine and prevention of bee diseases that cause damage to beekeeping farms, such as buzzard disease and cystic bud rot.
- Establishing a veterinary treatment system to eradicate diseases in beekeeping farms.
- Accurate diagnosis of bee diseases and use of correct medicines in beekeeping farms.
- Education for beekeeping farmers to promote the healthy development of the beekeeping industry.
The Korea Beekeeping Association emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating that diseases affecting bees are increasing, including the disappearance of bees in Korea. Through this agreement, the association aims to improve the benefits of beekeeping farmers and develop the beekeeping industry.
