T.I. Announces ‘Kill The King’ as Final Album & Retirement Plans

Atlanta, GA – – Rap icon T.I. Has confirmed that his forthcoming album, Kill The King, will be his final musical offering, marking the end of a celebrated career spanning two decades. The announcement came during an interview at the 2026 Grammy Awards, solidifying long-held speculation about the Atlanta rapper’s retirement.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., first unveiled plans for Kill The King back in 2021. The project will be released through his Grand Hustle Records label. The lead single, “LET ‘EM KNOW,” released on , features production from legendary artist Pharrell Williams, signaling a strong finish to his recording career.

“It’s a blessing, man. ‘LET ‘EM KNOW,’ produced by Pharrell. My first single off of my final album. I’m gonna be done. They should know it,” T.I. Told Entertainment Tonight on . “I’ve said it before. It’s time.”

This isn’t a sudden decision. T.I. Has hinted at stepping away from music for years, expressing a desire to explore other passions. In October 2024, he announced his retirement from performing live, stating he no longer needed the income and wished to prioritize personal fulfillment over the demands of touring. His final performance as a rapper was at 96.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball holiday concert in Atlanta.

Beyond music, T.I. Is already venturing into new creative territories. He recently released his debut comedy special, Cheaper Than Therapy, through his Tip Ain’t Funny website in December 2025, showcasing a different side of his multifaceted talent. He also expressed a desire to dedicate more time to his family and other ventures.

“I think I have many gifts that God has given me that I can spend more time and attention on and spend more time at home with my family and my grandchildren,” T.I. Shared with Entertainment Tonight.

T.I. And his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, have a blended family of seven children, including three children together – King, Major, and Heiress. They are also now grandparents through T.I.’s daughter Zonnique and their son King.
