Former Good Morning America anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are married. Holmes and Amy Robach officially married in a private ceremony in Washington County, Arkansas, according to a marriage license obtained by People. The wedding took place on September 19, with the marriage license registered in Holmes’s home state on October 13.
The private nuptials arrive nearly four years after the couple’s workplace romance became public and upended their careers at ABC. The relationship was exposed in November 2022 when paparazzi photos surfaced of the co-workers holding hands at a New York bar.
The Washington County Ceremony and Podcast Engagement Reveal
Holmes and Robach announced their engagement in October on their Amy & T.J.
podcast, telling listeners they had been engaged for about a month. Holmes explained during the episode that they wanted to share the news themselves to avoid external speculation. We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to,
Holmes said.
The couple started their relationship in August 2022 after separating from their respective spouses. Following the November 2022 media coverage of their relationship, ABC temporarily pulled them from the air in December 2022. Although ABC News President Kim Godwin stated at the time that the relationship was not a company policy violation, both anchors officially departed the network in January 2023.
The Fallout at ABC and Subsequent Divorces
The public exposure of the relationship triggered widespread media attention and led to quick separations from their previous partners. Holmes’s then-wife, attorney Marilee Fiebig, filed for divorce shortly after the scandal broke, followed months later by the divorce of Robach and her second husband, actor Andrew Shue. Following their own splits, Fiebig and Shue began dating each other in 2023.

During their podcast episodes, Robach and Holmes detailed the emotional toll of losing their positions on morning television. Robach described hitting rock bottom during an episode featuring singer-songwriter Rachel Platten, whose song Fight Song
became an anthem for her during the transition. Holmes similarly characterized the departure as freeing yet difficult, noting on the podcast that the experience was necessary to find where he was supposed to be.
Launch of the Amy and T.J. Podcast
A year after their departure from ABC, the broadcasting duo launched their self-titled podcast with iHeartPodcasts on December 5, 2023, marking their first public remarks on the headlines surrounding them. The podcast provided a platform for the couple to address how the scandal unfolded and to insist they had been quietly separated from their spouses before their relationship began.
