Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Superintendent Lim Tae-hee posted on his Facebook page on the 21st, “Class time at Osan Wonil Middle School, which was selected as an IB candidate school by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. Each person presented their specific ideas beyond the existing class method of finding causes and solutions to difficulties caused by the climate crisis.” He said.

Superintendent Lim said, “In response to the teacher’s question, “Kenya, which is experiencing a water shortage due to the climate crisis, how can we solve the problem?”, Ms. Lee of Osan Wonil Middle School proposed an ‘iron purification water tank’ that utilizes the principle of a water purification tank.” “It is a tumbler equipped with a water filter and an iron filter that can supplement the iron that Kenyans lack,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Lim held a roundtable discussion with the IB headquarters executives along with superintendents of Daegu, Seoul, Incheon, South Chungcheong, Jeonbuk, and Jeju.

The roundtable discussed common agendas such as strengthening domestic IB education-related cooperation between the IB headquarters and provincial and provincial offices of education, expanding the establishment of IB Korean language workshops for IB teacher professional development, accelerating the translation of IB materials into Korean, and reinforcing projects to improve university awareness.
