According to the business report for the first half of the year announced by domestic listed companies on the 17th, CEO Kim Taek-jin received a total of 9.442 billion won in the first half of this year, including 1.122 billion won in salary and incentives. Although it decreased by 3.85 billion won from 13.29 billion won in the first half of last year, it is still the largest amount among the total number of companies.

Lotte Shin Dong-bin 7.9 billion… 1.7 billion increase

Among the top 10 group heads, Shin Dong-bin, the chairman of Lotte Holdings and seven affiliates, received a total of 7.972 billion won in compensation, maintaining the top spot. This is an increase of 16.91 billion won from 6.28 billion won in the first half of last year. A Lotte Group official said, “Considering the fact that Lotte C&T and Lotte Rental’s salaries were included in this year’s announcement and that Chairman Shin returned his salaries for three months due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the first half of last year, this year’s remuneration has not increased significantly compared to last year. ” he explained.

SK Chairman Chey Tae-won received remuneration worth 3.8 billion won, including 2.59 billion won and 1.25 billion won, respectively, from SK Corporation and SK Hynix. Although I do not receive a salary from SK hynix, I received a bonus. SK, the holding company, received 1.5 billion won in salary and 1.09 billion won in bonuses. Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun was paid 3.25 billion won, including 2 billion won and 1.25 billion won, respectively, from Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Mobis, and LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo received a total of 6.57 billion won.

GS Group Chairman Huh Tae-soo received 1.63 billion won from GS. Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon, who returned to unregistered executives at Hanwha Corporation, Hanwha Solutions, and Hanwha E&C in February, received a total of 3 billion won in remuneration, including 900 million won from Hanwha, 900 million won from Hanwha Solutions, and 1.2 billion won from Hanwha E&C.
Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, who has been working without pay since February 2017, did not receive any pay in the first half of this year.

Jung Mong-goo received severance pay 30.2 billion won

Including severance pay, Chung Mong-koo, honorary chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, received a total of 30.233 billion won from Hyundai Mobis, the most. A severance pay of 297.63 billion won was added to the salary of 470 million won. A Hyundai Mobis spokesperson said, “The severance pay was calculated by multiplying the pay rate (200-400%) by position for the 43 years that Honorary Chairman Chung served as an executive.”

Nongshim Chairman Shin Chun-ho, who passed away in March, also paid a total of 214.26 billion won to Nongshim and Nongshim Holdings, reflecting 20.82 billion won of severance pay. An Nongshim official said, “According to Nongshim’s executive severance pay regulations, this is the amount obtained by multiplying the retirement standard salary by the pay multiple of the executive’s 55 years (55 years and 7 months) of tenure.”

Kakao Bae Jae-hyeon 8.1 billion, top professional managers

Among the professional managers, Kakao’s chief investment officer Bae Jae-hyun took the first place with 8.17 billion won. Senior Vice President Shin Jeong-hwan also received 6.48 billion won. Kim Ki-nam, CEO (Vice Chairman) of Samsung Electronics’ DS (Device Solution) Division, received a total of 3.493 billion won, including 880 million won in salary and 2.581 billion won in bonuses in the first half of this year. A Samsung Electronics official said, “We have taken into account the fact that it has contributed to improving the competitiveness of non-memory businesses such as system LSI and foundry.” Former Chairman Kwon Oh-hyun (advisor) received 3.12 billion won, and CEO Kim Hyun-seok and CEO Ko Dong-jin received 2.23 billion won and 2.58 billion won, respectively.

The highest paid among LG Electronics executives was former LG Electronics President Song Dae-hyun, who received 5.4 billion won in compensation. Among the incumbent executives, Kwon Bong-seok, CEO of LG Electronics, received 2.08 billion won. In the SK group, Cho Dae-shik, chairman of the SK Supex Council and an executive director of SK Corporation, had the largest share with 5.245 billion won. SK Corporation President Jang Dong-hyun received 3782 billion won, and SK Telecom President Park Jung-ho received 3.145 billion won.
