Although the incident was almost a year ago, it went viral on Facebook social media from Saturday afternoon (October 26). The video is in Ward No. 7 of Char Jabbar of Subarnachar Upazila Union.
The caned MP is Ayub Ali, a Three Finger Member. He is the public representative of Ward No. 7 of Charjabbar Union of Subarnachar Upazila and is the son of Shamsul Haque of the same ward.
In the viral video of 1 minute 48 seconds, it can be seen that men and women, young and old people are gathered around. The woman is interrogated in the middle. A mother’s involvement in a son’s crimes is said to be involved. When the complaint was denied, at one point, UP member Ayub Ali started beating him with sticks. At that time, some people nearby asked not to kill the mother for the son’s crime, but the UP member did not listen. Again, in the same video, his brother-in-law Mohammad Mohsin Majhi (42) is seen insulting him and inciting him to kill him.
The arbitration was called about a year ago due to allegations of burglaries in several local houses.
The woman victim said, ‘My son was accused of stealing. Then I got the blame. Member Ayub Ali was born in front of everyone. I was the mother of a criminal so I didn’t get justice from anyone. We could not inform anyone about the incident because Ayub Ali was an influential member of the Awami League.
The victim’s husband said, ‘My house has been robbed. I have been handed over to the police. The video is a long time ago. But we could not open our mouths. We have been punished a lot. I demand the punishment of all.’
Meanwhile, UP member Ayub Ali said the video is old though he admitted the truth of the incident. He said, ‘The allegations of theft were true, but I am their relative. I rule for that. And the video is a year ago. I am a two time member of UP. Supporter of Awami League. The BNP people are conspiring against me today with old videos.’
In this regard, Charjabbar police station (OC) Shaheen Mia said, ‘I have just heard from you but I have not seen the video. Also no one complained to the police. Give me the video if you have it. Also, legal action will be taken if complaints are made.’
