Tagarev is considering giving up the ministerial post

Defense Minister Todor Tagarev admitted that he may give up his post after the rotation because the constant attacks against him prevent him from doing his job. In response to a question about the expected assessment of his work, he told bTV that he has not been a student for a long time and does not carry a notebook with him.

Tagarev’s resignation is being sought above all by GERB leader Boyko Borisov, who in recent days has focused on the delayed delivery of military aid to Ukraine. Two weeks ago, however, Tagerev was criticized by “Democratic Bulgaria” along the same lines.

“These permanent attacks from all directions do not allow me to do my job, as I understand it. The question is not whether I will be invited to be a minister again, but whether I will have the conditions to carry out my policies. These attacks make me already think that I gave up,” commented Tagarev to bTV.

He explained that everyone can always do better at a job, but he said that Tee specifically works at the maximum limit and doesn’t see what else he can do.

“It’s hard for me to think how I can raise the speed at which I’m working. At the moment, this is the situation,” said Tagarev.

He also expressed disappointment at the attacks against him by deputies from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria”.

The minister confirmed that Bulgaria will not send its soldiers to the front in Ukraine. His comment was on the occasion of French President Emmanuel Macron’s ambiguous statement that it is possible that Western troops will be sent to Ukraine in the future. This comment forced the French foreign minister to clarify that it was not an idea to involve Western soldiers in a war with the Russian army in Ukraine.

“Most countries have said that there is no way to send their troops at this stage. The major allies in NATO categorically rule out this option, and I do not see in the future how it can be done. The purpose of Macron’s speech is not to give the Kremlin unnecessary peace of mind.” added Tagarev.
