Tata Motors has launched a facelifted version of its Punch EV, making the electric micro-SUV available for booking at dealerships across India as of February 21, 2026. The updated model offers buyers a choice of battery options, aiming to broaden its appeal in the rapidly expanding Indian electric vehicle market.

The Punch EV facelift is offered with two battery capacities: a 30 kWh unit providing a range of 265 km, and a larger 40 kWh battery capable of delivering up to 468 km on a single charge. These figures are based on testing conducted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), the country’s leading automotive testing and certification agency.

Charging capabilities are a key feature of the new Punch EV. The vehicle supports fast charging up to 65 kW DC, allowing for a 20-80% charge in as little as 26 minutes under ideal conditions. A 15-minute fast charge is claimed to add up to 135 km of range, addressing range anxiety concerns for potential EV buyers.

Tata Motors is further bolstering consumer confidence with a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, a relatively uncommon offering in the segment. This warranty provides a significant value proposition, mitigating concerns about long-term battery health and replacement costs.

Performance-wise, the Punch EV’s electric motor produces 130 PS of power. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in under nine seconds. The vehicle also boasts a 32% gradeability, indicating its ability to handle steep inclines, and a water-wading depth of 450 mm, enhancing its versatility in varied terrain. Drivers can select from three driving modes – Eco, City, and Sport – and utilize four levels of regenerative braking, adjustable via paddle shifters.

A significant technological advancement incorporated into the facelifted Punch EV is the new X-in-1 e-drive module. This integrated unit consolidates six separate systems into a single, more compact design. According to Tata, this results in a 50% reduction in size, a 28% decrease in weight, and a nearly 6% improvement in efficiency.

Further enhancing efficiency, the vehicle features a 30% reduction in electrical connections and a 40% decrease in the number of semiconductors used. A full-fledged temperature management system, incorporating eTXV technology, is also included to maintain optimal battery and cabin temperatures.

The interior of the Punch EV facelift has been updated with a focus on modern features. A 26.03 cm (approximately 10.25 inch) touchscreen infotainment system powered by Harman, featuring the Arcade.ev 2.0 application, is integrated alongside a digital instrument cluster with navigation support. Ventilated leatherette front seats, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, wireless smartphone connectivity, a sunroof with voice commands, an air purifier, Alexa integration, emergency SOS functionality, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, LED lighting, diamond-cut alloy wheels, push-button start, and fast-charging USB-C ports in the rear complete the cabin upgrades.

Safety features are comprehensive, including six airbags, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Connected car features, such as over-the-air (OTA) updates, valet mode, vehicle health reports, trip analysis, remote commands, and e-call functionality, are also included.

Externally, the facelifted Punch EV features a redesigned front fascia with a closed grille characteristic of electric vehicles, a reshaped bumper, new wheel designs, an updated signature light bar, and a contrasting black roof option available with new exterior color choices.

In India, the Tata Punch EV facelift is priced starting at ₹9.69 lakh (approximately $11,600 USD) for the 30 kWh battery variant and ₹10.89 lakh (approximately $13,000 USD) for the 40 kWh version. These prices position the Punch EV as a competitive offering in the growing Indian electric vehicle market, particularly within the micro-SUV segment.
