Taxi driver seat door open bicycle collision man dies Tokyo Meguro | NHK metropolitan area news

A man in his 60s who was riding a bicycle on the street in Meguro Ward, Tokyo, hit the open door of a taxi parked in front of him, fell over, was hit by a following bus and died.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, before 7:00 pm on the 17th, a taxi driven by a 29-year-old man stopped on the side of the road to pick up a customer at “Meguro Dori” in Shimomeguro, Meguro Ward.
After that, when the driver opened the door of the driver’s seat, a man in his 60s who was riding a bicycle collided and fell and was hit by the following bus.
The man was taken to hospital, but was pronounced dead about an hour later.
The bus was still running, but no passengers were injured.
Police say the taxi driver opened the door to help passengers load their luggage when he was hit by a cyclist who tried to overtake him on the right side of the car.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident by checking the bus’s drive recorder.
