The Korea Professional Football Federation announced on the 7th the list of K-League players who will play against Tottenham in the first match of the ‘Coupang Play Series’. Team K League will face Tottenham Hotspur at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 13th.
The team K-League squad consists of 24 players, two from each of the 12 K-League 1 teams. Based on the list of recommendations submitted by each club, Team K League coach Kim Sang-sik, coach Kim Do-gyun, and the Federation Technical Committee consulted and selected the selection.
Seongnam’s Kim Young-kwang and national goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo (Ulsan) were selected as goalkeepers. A total of eight players were named as defenders. Suwon’s Lee Ki-je and Bluetooth, Kim Ji-soo (Seongnam), and Kim Dong-min (Incheon) were selected respectively.
In particular, Kim Ji-soo, born in 2004, received a lot of attention as the youngest member of the K-League and the first semi-professional player in Seongnam this season, and was even honored to be selected for the Team K-League. In addition, last season’s K League 1 MVP Hong Jeong-ho and national defender Kim Jin-soo (above Jeonbuk) were also selected.
A total of 10 players were selected for the midfield position, including Lee Seung-woo of Suwon FC. Myeong-ju Lee (Incheon), Dae-won Kim, Hyeong-jun Yang (Gangwon), Won-sang Um (Ulsan), and Chang-hoon Kwon (Gimcheon) were named.
Jumin-gyu and Jo Gyu-seong, who compete for the top scorer in the K League 1, were selected side by side as strikers. Lars (Suwon FC), who was reborn as a special assistant this season, also entered the list. Se Jin-ya, who has been playing in the K-League since 2016 and is evaluated as the best foreign player, was also included in the striker position.
