Applicants can submit an application on the website, fill in their personal information and upload their unemployment certification documents. The Government will review the applicant’s MPF account records, or the income and supporting documents provided by the applicant.
In response to the fifth wave of the epidemic, the government launched a temporary unemployment support scheme in the sixth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund, offering a lump sum of $10,000 to the unemployed.
The applicant must be unemployed for 30 consecutive days, or be employed in premises affected by the epidemic prevention regulations and have to stop working for 30 days. He must also hold a Hong Kong identity card and be at least 18 years old on or before October 1 last year. Work in Hong Kong for at least one month from January to December, covering employed, part-time and self-employed persons, with a monthly salary of 2,700 to 30,000 yuan.
