Covington, Tennessee ⁤ – A former fourth-grade teacher in Tipton county, Tennessee, has been‍ sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old student. alissa McCommon pleaded guilty to ⁢multiple charges, including statutory rape, aggravated statutory rape, sexual exploitation of a minor, and solicitation of a minor.

McCommon’s crimes came to light in ⁢2021 when she was accused of assaulting a former student. The investigation revealed that she had engaged ⁣in sexual acts with at least five students,⁣ with ⁢the possibility of up to 21 victims.

During the sentencing hearing, a family member of one of McCommon’s victims delivered a powerful statement, telling ⁤the disgraced‍ teacher, “I hope you burn in hell.”

Judge Blake Neill of‍ the Circuit Court ‍ordered ⁣that McCommon’s sentences be served concurrently, meaning she⁤ will not be eligible for parole.
