[아시아경제 윤슬기 기자] The whereabouts of Chinese tennis player Feng Shunyi have been unknown since she revealed that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by a high-ranking person in China.
Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on the 15th (local time) that there has been no contact since Peng said that she had been sexually assaulted by Zhang Gaori (75), a former deputy prime minister of the Chinese State Council, on the 15th (local time).
Previously, the New York Times (NYT) reported on the 3rd (local time) that Peng had posted on his social networking service (SNS) the day before, stating that he had a lasting relationship after being sexually assaulted by former Deputy Prime Minister Jang. According to reports, Peng said that former Deputy Prime Minister Zhang was sexually assaulted between 2007 and 2012 while working in the Tianjin area.
Peng said, “I cried and refused to have sex with former Deputy Prime Minister Chang, but I agreed to it in a terrifying and bewildering state. Even if it becomes a moth, even if it is a way to promote self-destruction, I will tell the truth.” The post was later deleted, but suspicions grew as the file that captured the post spread online.
SCMP reported, “She hasn’t appeared since the #MeToo revelations.” There are also rumors that Feng received a pension from the Chinese authorities.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Zhang retired in 2018, and was a member of China’s supreme leadership (Standing Committee of the Central Politburo of the Communist Party of China) from 2013 to 2018. From 2007 to 2012, which Feng said was the point at which sexual violence occurred, former Deputy Prime Minister Zhang served as the party secretary of Tianjin.
Feng Shunyi, who played for the Tianjin tennis team, is a Chinese tennis star who also ranked first in the world rankings in doubles. He also won the doubles at Wimbledon in 2013 and the doubles at the French Open in 2014.
