Texcaltitlán: Authorities confirm 10 missing after shooting

At least 10 people are missing, after the confrontation between civilians and members of the criminal group ‘Familia Michoacana’ in Texcaltitlán, in the State of Mexico, confirmed this Thursday Delfina Gómez, governor of the entity.

“No (they are kidnapped), they are missing and that is what will be given in the report, but not kidnapped,” said the state president when visiting the community of Texcapilla, where she delivers supplies to the population.

Last Friday, residents confronted members of the ‘Michoacana Family’ in order to end the extortion of which they were victims, so they took up arms, leaving 14 people dead, 10 of them members of the criminal group.

For his part, the Secretary of Security, Andrés Andrade, indicated that there could be more than a dozen residents who are missing; although The Mexicans of this community affirm that these are plagiarisms by the criminal group they faced almost a week ago.

“We are estimating that there are more than 10 people that we have not located and “We are analyzing what the status is, if there is any criminal situation or if it is an issue of voluntary abduction due to the situation they experienced,” said.

According to the residents of this community, The criminal group asks in exchange for those identified as ‘disappeared’ the members who took up arms against the alleged extortionists.

However, the Secretary of Security asked not to draw hasty conclusions, as well as not to spread uncorroborated and verified information, as he stated that it generates psychosis and panic among society, mainly on social networks.

In addition, it was announced that a family of nine members is also missing, to which the head of the Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico stated that he is not certain that it was a kidnapping.

In this sense, he explained that relatives have not filed a formal complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office, because, he said, “they are not sure that it is another situation, other than that they have been voluntarily stolen.”

In addition, he indicated that the State Attorney General’s Office already has an ongoing investigation folder for the confrontation, as well as for the disappearances and possible kidnappings by criminal groups.

Last Monday, the governor of the State of Mexico announced that They would maintain continuous surveillance in the central area of ​​the country, where the confrontation took place, as well as installing a National Guard barracks.
