The Association reveals the details of Al Hilal’s request to postpone the confrontation with Al Ahly

The Saudi Professional League Association denied the validity of the media information about rejecting the request to postpone the match between Al-Hilal and Al-Ahly in the 28th round of the Saudi Roshan League.

The association stated through its official account on “X” via a statement: Al-Hilal sent a letter containing a request to reconsider the remaining period of the season’s calendar in general, and no clear request was identified to be dealt with by the competitions administration.

The statement added: Al-Hilal sent an email containing the club’s desire to meet with the competitions administration to discuss the remaining period of the calendar. The meeting was held, and the possibility of amending the date of the Al-Hilal-Al-Ahly match was discussed in it, and it was confirmed that if it was postponed, the pressure on Al-Hilal’s match schedule would increase in the event of reaching the Asian final. .

The statement added: The Association’s CEO met with Al Hilal’s CEO, Steve Calzada, as part of the announced visits. The club’s request was discussed, and the Association’s point of view was made clear regarding the difficulty of postponement because it would put greater pressure on Al Hilal’s schedule. In early April, Al Hilal sent a letter containing another request to reconsider the schedule of league competitions and Al Hilal matches in particular. The association responded that the amendment would have a negative impact on all clubs, specifically Al Hilal, and the response did not include, “This is a tax for the club that competes in all championships.”
