A study has found that the AstraZeneca vaccine is effective in treating cancer for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

On the 3rd (local time), researchers at Oxford University in England published the results of this study in the international journal ‘Cancer Immunotherapy’.

According to the researchers, when the vaccine was administered to mice with cancer, the size of the cancer cells decreased by 82% in 36 days.

The researchers expected that the vaccine could be used to treat various cancers such as lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, and bladder cancer in the future.

The researchers, who have seen the effects in animal experiments, are also preparing clinical trials in humans.

The research team plans to conduct an initial clinical trial in 80 patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
